School Meals

At Ling Moor, we offer children the opportunity to have a hot, nutritious meal every day. Fresh cold water is always provided with meals and is available for all children.

There is a three week cycle of menus so children have lots of choice. Our meals are provided by our own school kitchen - The Ling Moor Kitchen

For pupils in EYFS, Year One and Year Two meals are provided free of charge by the DfE. In KS2, meals cost £2.50 per day. All meals are ordered at least a week in advance via the ParentPay App which is an online ordering and payment system. Upon joining the academy each parent will receive login details to access ParentPay

Our kitchen supervisor, Mrs Laura Lowe, is always willing to speak to parents about the ingredients included in the menus. If your child has a food allergy i.e. nuts, lactose or gluten then please contact the school directly to speak to Mrs Lowe about your child's needs.

If you are on income support, income based job seekers allowance, receive child tax credit with an annual income of less than a specified amount or receive the Guarantee element of the State Pension Credit your child may be entitled to a free lunch. Taking up the free school meal offer could save you approximately £400 per child each year, which is the average amount being spent on packed lunches.

If you think you may be eligible, please click on the link below for information and contact the school office.

If you wish to provide your child with a well balanced packed lunch, please ensure this is healthy and does not contain any fizzy drinks or sweets.

Snacks at Playtime

All pupils in EYFS and KS1 classes have a morning break time snack of fruit. These children eat a selection of fruit provided or they can bring an alternative fruit or vegetable based snack choice from home. In KS2 children bring their own fruit which they eat at playtime. No other snack than fruit is allowed during break time.
